TRUST Academy is the one-stop resource for users and data contributors

TRUST Academy is a joint initiative by TRUST and the National Cohorts Office (NCO), offering targeted data related courses in governance, best practices and data science.

Content is curated specifically to aid TRUST users and data contributors to make best use of the TRUST platform for safe, secure data sharing and research analysis.

Through TRUST Academy, we aim to support stakeholders in these areas:

Use of the TRUST Platform

Foundational training of TRUST features and functionalities, familiarity with tools, libraries & datasets available on TRUST.

Data Governance

Enhance appreciation of core data governance (e.g. PDPA, cybersecurity, principles of safe access).

Data Science

Build data science competency (e.g. training materials on Python, R and notebook instances).

Data Interoperability

Promulgate best practices to enable interoperability and utility, in the areas of data collection (e.g. consent, ethics) and data management (e.g. storage and conveyance, access).

Data Curation

Spearhead data curation capability and data standards (e.g. OMOP training).

Community Building

Uplifting the community through local / overseas collaborations and cross institution sharing.

The TRUST Academy curriculum

For TRUST Users

  • A combination of live in-person and self-guided videos & documentation for Users to familiarise themselves and get started on the platform, including governance and best practices.
  • Info sessions on specific tools / data / platform enhancements and Q&A / support sessions for Users.
  • Recommended courses on data science and research governance and ethics, curated by the TRUST team.

For Data Contributors

  • Guidelines for data collection (consent / IRB / HBRA), governance (TTP / DAC / FAIR).
  • Best practices for data management / stewardship, linkage and storage.
